500: Broderie Perse

Broderie Perse is an appliqué technique that was originally developed to stretch precious and expensive chinz fabrics in the 18th and 19th centuries, but which lends itself incredibly well to using today’s fashionable large-scale prints. Join Casey York as she guides you through a modern adaptation of Broderie Perse using fusible raw-edge appliqué and improvisational compositional techniques to create a mini-quilt top that can be as modern or traditional as you like. Both beginning and more advanced students will have fun creating beautiful free-form appliqué quilts using their favorite printed fabrics.
