Celtic Radiance
Fabric:
- See pattern for fabric needs. Pattern offers 2 sizes and 2 layouts. Fabric needs will be based on the size and layout you choose.
- Fabrics used for the strip sets (8 fabrics) need to range in value, it is important to have a VERY DARK and a VERY LIGHT fabric in this grouping.
- Fabrics used for the Celtic bias tubes should be MEDIUM VALUES
- Sue is willing to assist you with fabric selection if you would like. She works most Mondays and Tuesdays, other shop staff are also available to assist you on other days as well.
Celtic Knot Specific Supplies:
Plastic or metal press bar ¼” or 3/16” depending on pattern size you choose
¼” wide double sided tape, 2-3 ten yard rolls (optional but highly recommended)
Mechanical pencil or chalk pencil if using a light box OR Transfer paper and ball point pen (any color except black) to draw Celtic design on background fabric if not using a light box.
Project will be broken down into workable sections. All sewing will be done on your own, so no need to bring a sewing machine and other sewing supplies to class. Hands on assembly of the Celtic knot will be done in the classroom. Prep work/homework for subsequent classes (to be scheduled by the group) will be discussed in class.
You may want to bring a notebook or paper and a pen or pencil to class for taking notes.
