Vintage Spin


This pattern is adjustable to a variety of sizes. Choose your own fabrics if you prefer a different look or mix and match fabrics.

Level: Advanced beginner, some quilting experience helpful.

Instructor: Kim Tappana

Fee: $40

Techniques taught: Basic color theory, using a wedge ruler, paper piecing, freezer paper applique

 

 
FABRIC AND SUPPLY LIST

FABRICS:

20 to 30 different fabrics, approx. ½ yard each, light and warm colors
20 to 30 different fabrics, approx. ½ yard each, dark and cool colors
Backing fabric yardage, depends on quilt size
Binding fabric yardage, depends on quilt size
Batting yardage, depends on quilt size

SUPPLIES

Pattern book:  Adding Layers: Color, Design and Imagination by Kathy Doughty

Project supplies: Wedge ruler, 18 degree, at least 9 inches long

Basic Sewing Supplies:
  • Sewing machine (used only in second class) in good condition with new needle.
  • Straight pins, neutral thread, scissors, rotary cutter, cutting mat
  • Freezer paper
